Biography

Personal profile

I am a Colombian-Belgian artist living in Belgium for over 35 years, with regular study trips to Quebec that have enriched my career. My artistic adventure began with dance: a former professional dancer with the National Ballet of Colombia, I settled in Belgium following a European tour. This choreographic origin continues to permeate my artistic work—every gesture I paint, model, sew, or embroider extends the movement of the body.
Trained in visual and media arts at UQAM, and holding a diploma in interior design, I have developed a multifaceted mastery of numerous mediums: painting, sculpture, casting, lithography, sewing, and embroidery. This diversity allows me to weave links between forms, materials, and rituals, in the service of a work that is at once spiritual, intimate, and social.
At the heart of my artistic approach is the dignity of life and the quest for social justice—in the face of the systemic violence that plagues South America and beyond. My project, "The Forgotten," is part of this trajectory: making space for absences, repairing through attention, and inviting peace.
